RATES
Square Inch Price
I charge 2.5 cents per square inch for all designs.
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .025 = $120.
Note: 20% off for your first quilt order.
My minimum quilting charge is $35. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $35 minimum.

Batting
I use Quilters Dream batting in 100% cotton and 80/20 cotton/poly blend. I have limited quantities of wool and bamboo batting in stock, and am happy to special order any type of batting that you prefer. Please ask for availability.

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
65" of 100% cotton deluxe loft @ $0.40/in = $26.00
65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.33/in = $21.45
Binding
I can machine sew your binding on to the front of the quilt for .15 cents per inch. You would sew the binding to the back either by hand or machine.
If you provide the binding, there is no additional charge. If you would like me to make the binding, I charge a $20 flat fee and would require 3/4 yard for Throw size and larger of your binding fabric or 1/2 yard for crib/baby size quilt.
Thread
I stock Glide (#40 & #50 weight) threads. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use, it's included in your square inch price.
If you do not specify a thread color preference, I will attempt to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt.
Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Seattle, WA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of plastic bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $100 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.
Other Costs
As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State and County taxes to collect a 10.35% sales tax on the quilting and binding service portion of an invoice. Batting and shipping are not subject to sales tax.
